The Mission of the Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Analytical Chemistry Technician with a focus on X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry. In this full-time, lab-based role, you will assist in preparing solid samples for elemental analysis using XRF, maintain lab instruments, and support XRF workflows by preparing reagents and samples. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about analytical chemistry and laboratory processes.
Key Responsibilities & Measurable Accountabilities:
- Assist in preparing solid samples for X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) analysis to determine elemental composition.
- Perform sample and reagent preparation for all XRF-related workflows.
- Maintain and operate lab instruments, ensuring they are clean, calibrated, and in proper working condition following SOPs.
- Record and manage data in compliance with SOPs, ensuring accurate results and efficient processes.
- Maintain a lab notebook, documenting experiments and findings in detail.
- Assist in optimizing SOPs for greater efficiency and accuracy.
- Monitor lab inventory and ensure necessary supplies are ordered and available.
- Comply with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized lab environment.
- Communicate results effectively with team members and collaborate on projects.
Qualifications:
- B.S. or A.S. in Chemistry or a related science field.
- 0-2 years of laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and lab software.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced lab environment.
